e-Inclusion II

About the project

e-Inclusion II

In the e-inclusion project appeared a lot of questions during the direct work with the project partners and many problems became evident in using digital media in education. This was, for example, the question, how inclusion processes can be supported by digital media earlier. Also question, whether the transition from kindergarten to primary school together with the involvement of the parents can be supported by digital media, appeared in the course of the project.

The transnational project e-inclusion 2 connected on the results of the 2013 completed project e-inclusion. Initiated by the European Institute for innovation (EIfI) e.V. and in cooperation with the city  Osterholz-Scharmbeck and municipal educational institutions the focus of work oft the project was on deepening questions with regard to the increased use of ICT for designing inclusive learning environments. The focus was on the implementation of a learning management system for a better information management in transition processes from kindergarten to school.

The project should contribute to improving long-term learning and training ability and social participation for all children and young people in the town of Osterholz-Scharmbeck. It aimed to a quality improvement of continuous facilitation of learning from kindergarten up to secondary school. In particular the transition management should be supported and improved by digital media.

Individualizing of learning was also sought through the use of ICT. Objective was to strengthen the self learning skills of children and adolescents for promoting lifelong learning.

Together with transnational partners from Switzerland and Austria and with regional partners or institutions concepts were developed and tested to support inclusion through ICT in transition situations for a better networking and a structured, interinstitutional communication. The sustainable implementation of a comprehensive communication culture is essential for a good transition management at the education transitions. Because of using digital media and the increase of media and operating skills, the continuity of education and educational work can be supported profitably and effectively.
