Network & membership

EIfI members are the heart of the organisation through co-creation of activities and participation in project activity.  Members support the work of the EIfI through both their membership fees and their experience and creativity in the development and implementation of projects and campaigns that address Europe’s biggest problems based on the thematic expertise of the institution. Within the organisation they are part of a network of peers and can profit from knowledge exchange.

City of Osterholz-Scharmbeck:

Osterholz-Scharmbeck! A modern town with about 30,000 inhabitants, in a unique landscape, located in Lower Saxony/Germany. Geographically the city is located between the Hanseatic town Bremen and and the seaports of Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven. Tradition and innovation here form a unit. Headed complemented by a future-oriented education and childcare, flexible, innovative commercial concepts and numerous sporting, cultural and leisure activities. The city Osterholz-Scharmbeck consists of the core city and nine towns called Freißenbüttel, Garlstedt, Heilshorn, Hülseberg, Ohlenstedt, Pennigbüttel, Sandhausen, Scharmbeckstotel and Teufelsmoor. Osterholz-Scharmbeck – the ideal place for work, family, home and recreation – the perfect livelihood.

Jade Hochschule Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth

The Jade University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2009 and is located between the northern Jade bay and the rivers Hunte and Weser in the northern part of Germany. It offers some 35 courses in six different departments. The three study sites, in which the Jade University is located (Wilhelmshaven, Oldenburg and Elsfleth), have a longstanding tradition in their fields. For instance, nautical studies in Elsfleth go back to the year 1832. Today the Department is Germany’s largest nautical studies centre. Engineers have been taught in Oldenburg since 1877, and in Wilhelmshaven the Academy of Business Studies was founded in 1947.

The Jade University sees itself as a modern university with a focus on maritime sciences as well as courses in engineering and business studies.

Most recently, the Jade University has added additional areas of expertise in the field of hearing technology and audiology, marine research, tourism, geo-informatics, media studies and medical technology.

The Jade University combines academic learning and research with key qualifications and ethical standards, currently more than 8.000 students learn nowadays in one of the youngest universities of applied sciences.
